POOL SEASON typically runs from May through the end of September. The United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) recorded over 26,000 water rescues in 2021 in the United States. But lifeguarding isn't only about saving people from drowning, it is also about being a good public servant to the masses of crowds that are excited to get out in the sun and hit the beaches and the pools. Young children full of energy, crowds fighting to get the best spots, and keeping an eye on unruly and unsafe behavior can be difficult and demanding at times. In fact, USLA has recorded almost 175,000 incidents across the US in 2021 needed medical aid attention near the pools, parks, and beaches.

Everywhere you look it seems like there is a desperate situation that needs attention. War in Ukraine, refugees forced to leave home and wander into new territories, poor water conditions in third world countries, growing orphanages and foster children, lack of medical care, homelessness in our cities, abandoned elderly, and the list goes on and on. That's why we got super excited when we providentially got the privilege to help in a small way. It is always a privilege to help. Many of us can go day by day without ever seeing the need, in the busyness of life we are often blinded. We hope this blog post can spur us on to love and good works to help our fellow neighbors.
